ISO More Emojis. Day 343.

Sammy said I need to use more emojis when communicating by text. This way, he will be able to tell if I’m mad or not.

For example, yesterday, Sammy texted me, “DG then home, need anything?”

“NTY,” I texted.

(DG = Dollar General, and NTY = No, thank you.)

He said he couldn’t tell my mood from my text, and although he’s correct that there is no mood indicator in my phone words, is it necessary?

We talked about it last night and he said, “It’s my problem, not yours.”

“But what if others think I’m unhappy with them because I’m not using enough emojis?”

I think most people just tack a “LOL” at the end and call it a day. Since I don’t use LOL, I am a kink in the chain, a bump in the road, a rotten apple in a barrel of freshly picked macs.

I joke, but I don’t want to make people feel uneasy or sad because they’re not privy to my current state of mind, but then again, isn’t that my emotion to share?

It also causes me to wonder if I’ve lost relationships due to my lack of LOLs or emojis. On my way to work this morning, I will ponder this more.

Oops, sorry. Here: 🙂
